The Role

We are looking for a talented and self-motivated Trainee Concrete Technician in the concrete admixtures division. You will become an integral member of our close-knit Oscrete team, within a company that is committed to developing employees and can offer great long term career prospects.


Main duties

  • Daily involvement in the operation of the Oscrete concrete and admixture laboratory.
  • Testing of admixtures in concrete trial mixes for internal and external customers.
  • Undertaking product trials and demonstrations, both on and off-site.
  • Logging and organizing samples for testing and archive.
  • Preparing reports on work undertaken for internal and external customers.
  • Ensuring compliance with the relevant BSI and HSE systems.
  • Preparing and sending sample admixtures to customers.
  • Supporting the Oscrete Technical Sales Managers with technical and site trial advice.
  • Upkeep of 5S system and general housekeeping.


Key Criteria

  • GCSE education including Maths and English.
  • A working knowledge of concrete materials and simple concrete technology.
  • The ability to use Microsoft applications for the analysis of results and writing of reports.
  • Able to communicate on a technical level with the Oscrete client base.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Good level of written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving license.


Desirable Criteria

  • Concrete Technology & Construction Stage 2 (formerly City & Guilds part 1)
  • Experience in a similar technical services role.
  • Possess the technical ability to understand and advise clients on concrete mix designs.
